NYCAM is community-funded!
NYCAM operates on a mutual aid or gift economy. We provide care and trainings free of charge because we believe this knowledge is communally stewarded, makes our movements stronger, and ultimately moves us closer to liberation.
Care work is still work! Between administrative and logistical planning, ongoing curriculum development, and facilitation training for our organizing members, NYCAM trainings require weeks, sometimes months, of (unpaid) labor to organize.
If you or your group have financial power or access to funding, you can contribute to NYCAM’s work via the following:
- Venmo: @NYCactionmedical
- Cashapp: $NYCactionmedical
- Cash in-person
All financial support is allocated toward the costs and needs of future trainings, including medical supplies, learning tools, A/V tech, transportation, printing, language interpretation, renting space, and more. When available, surplus training funds are used to send trainers to facilitate street medic trainings in other cities.
